Stormwater Compliance works to protect water quality in our lakes, streams and the Puget Sound, by coordinating citywide compliance with state and federal water quality regulations. Our volunteer and education and outreach programs strive to raise awareness of the impacts of stormwater pollution and promote environmentally friendly business and residential practices that minimize stormwater impacts. In addition, the Illicit Discharge Detection and Elimination (IDDE) program works to investigate and remove pollutants being discharged to the City stormwater system.
PHASE II MUNICIPAL STORMWATER PERMIT
Acknowledging growing concerns with stormwater in our daily lives, SeaTac has completed the 2017 Stormwater Management Program (SWMP) Plan and the March 2017 NPDES Annual Report . The SWMP Plan identifies planned activities for 2016 and the Annual Report confirms the City's annual compliance efforts under the Phase II National Pollutant Discharge Elimination System Permit. The 2013 SWMP and the 2012 SWMP documents, as well as the below-listed Surface Water Plan, describe the City's existing Stormwater Management Program in detail, and the overall plan for the Surface Water Utility. We encourage you to submit comments on the 2016 SWMP Plan to help us identify program needs and priorities. Please send comments: firstname.lastname@example.org or address written comments: City of SeaTac Public Works, Stormwater Compliance Manager, 4800 South 188th Street, SeaTac, WA 98188-8605.
Our overall goal for the program is not only to meet the requirements of the municipal stormwater permit administered by the Department of Ecology , but also to ensure that our program addresses your concerns. SeaTac Public Works staff have been working with other jurisdictions around the Puget Sound through several regional forums in a collaborative effort to share resources, tools, and methodologies to meet Ecology’s SWMP requirements.
