January 23, 2018 Council Actions

The following Council direction was given at the January 23, 2018 Regular Council Meeting: 

  • Approve staff hours and Refer report to Land Use & Parks (LUP) Committee

    Council Information Request for GIS Mapping of critical areas - 8 hours of staff work. 

  • Refer report to Land Use & Parks (LUP) Committee

    Comprehensive Plan amendment - Identify whether to have an amendment in 2018 and define process.           

  • Return to Transportation & Public Works (T&PW) Committee

    Sandpiper Apartments – 34th Avenue South as part of SR 509 Project 

  • Refer to Transportation & Public Works (T&PW) Committee

    Analysis regarding potential leak in Olympic Pipeline
    Surface Water Fee System 

  • Refer to February 1 Administration & Finance (A&F) Committee and potentially February 13 Council Meeting for Action

    Changing SeaTac to Mayor/Council form of Government and whether to place it on the April ballot. 

  • Refer to Airport Advisory Committee

    Dialogue between Council and Port of Seattle 

  • Refer to Code Compliance Committee

    Which cities have taken the most aggressive steps towards abatement of abandoned houses? Refer to Code Compliance Committee to narrow request based on data already researched. 

  • Additional Requests for Direction:
    Schedule Town Hall Meeting - poll Council for a date late April
    Community Services Advisory Committee member who has missed all meetings in 2017 – declare position vacant and open to all
    Puget Sound Regional Council (PSRC) Transportation Plan – direct City Manager to submit comments on behalf of the City                                   

The following Council actions were taken at the January 23, 2018 Council Meeting: 

Tejvir Basra was appointed to the Port of Seattle Stakeholder Advisory Roundtable (StART) 

Final Acceptance of public works projects

Approved: Angle Lake Park Nature Trail

Agenda Bill #4806; A Motion authorizing the City Manager to execute the amended Agreement for membership in the South County Area Transportation Board (SCATBd) was carried and became effective January 23, 2018.

 Agenda Bill #4802; A Motion authorizing the City Manager to execute a professional services contract with Parametrix to complete the design of the South 166th St. Safe Routes to School Project, in an amount not to exceed $233,000 was carried and became effective January 23, 2018
